As a leisure-based destination, Cairns Airport offers the first impression for many visitors to the stunning Tropical North Queensland region.  Cairns Airport is committed to creating a retail and dining precinct where visitors can first touch the Tropical North Queensland region on arrival and relive the riches of the region on departure.Cairns Airport offers a unique mix of retail and dining concessions across separate International and Domestic Terminals.  The offering accommodates a wide range of shopping and dining options for both arriving and departing passengers and those farewellers and greeters accompanying them.

The Domestic Terminal has recently undergone a complete redevelopment which has delivered a retail and dining precinct that is concentrated within a common lounge which doubles as the departure gate holding area and arrival concourse.  A central screening area is shared by all carriers and is designed to not only encourage passengers, but friends, staff and the general public to pass through security and patronise the stores.  In addition, the entrance to the Qantas Club lounge is located within the common lounge exposing club members to the retail and dining precinct.

The retail precinct at the International Terminal is currently being refurbished to deliver a walk-through duty free offering directly after the Australian Customs Services and Security processing points.  Passengers are welcomed into an expansive departures lounge housing some of Australia’s leading Airport retailers.  National and international brands are readily available in the departures lounge and the terminal’s sidewalk approach to retail and dining precinct gives the passenger a relaxed and pleasant environment to make their purchases.
