Not only have we reduced the Long-Term parking rate at Cairns Airport, we've made more car parking spaces available too. Follow the signs to enter the Long-Term Car Park. If the Long-Term Car Park is full simply proceed through the Long-Term Car Park exit boom gate (which will be raised) and find the nearest vacant car parking space in the adjacent Short-Term Car Park for exactly the same Long-Term rate.

  • Located within a designated area of the T2 (Domestic) Car Park and just a 3-4 minute walk to check-in, it is the ideal option for stays of 2 days or more. Access is via the Short-Term T2 (Domestic) Car Park entrance and then by following the signs to Long Term Car Park.

    Car Park Conditions of Entry

    On entry to the carparks you can insert your credit card into the machine or push the button to be allocated a ticket. Payment is made on departure. If you have chosen to use your credit card you simply insert it again in the machine at the car park exit. (Receipt will be issued on payment).

    Cash and credit card payments can be made at one of the paystations which are available for both the Domestic and International carparks. They are located either within, or enroute to, the carparks. If you require a receipt you will need to put your ticket into the paystation then press the receipt button before entering your money. Take the ticket with you and put it into the machine at the carpark exit.

    Motor bikes also need to park in the bays provided within the public carparks.

    Car Park Limits

    The car parks at Cairns Airport are designed according to Australian Standards to accommodate vehicles of a maximum of 4.9m long x 1.9m wide x 4.0m high.

    The car parks are not designed to accommodate vehicles with trailers, caravans, floats etc. or vehicles over the above length, width or height.Please note that parking in prohibited areas or parking an oversize vehicle or a vehicle with a trailer, caravan or float etc. within the car park can incur a fine.There are public drop-off/pick-up zones at the airport which have a height limit of 2.4m.If your vehicle is not suitable for either the car park or the public drop-off/pick-up zones you should make alternative transport arrangements when coming to Cairns Airport. There are several options including Taxis or Limousines, Buses and Accommodation Transfers, or getting family or friends to help you.

    Pick-Up & Drop-Off

    Free parking for 10 minutes is available within most terminal car parks to make picking up and dropping off easier and less stressful. In addition, regulated pick up and drop off areas are located outside the terminals. Use of these areas is strictly for pick up/drop off and go only. No waiting or parking is permitted, passengers must be waiting at the kerb for immediate pick up (penalties apply).

    Drivers should note that there is a 2.4m height clearance for the public drop-off/pick-up zones.
