Calling all budding aviation enthusiasts for the annual Cairns Airport Careers Day commencing on Sunday 31 August from 9am - 12pm.
The day is an opportunity to check out information about pathways and potential careers in the airport and aviation sector, right here in Cairns. Get up close to some airport operations vehicles and aircraft.
If you're finishing school soon and looking into an exciting career in aviation, come along and find out more on apprenticeships, traineeships, general courses and job vacancies. Get up close to airport operations vehicles and aircraft and chat with over 20 employers including the Australian Federal Police, Cairns Airport, Leidos, Jetstar, Australian Border Force, and many more.
Bring the kiddies along for a fun and FREE event which offers the chance to meet our friendly Australian Border Force Dogs, get your face-painted and get up close to a variety of aircraft as well as airport operation vehicles including Aviation Rescue Firefighters (ARFFS) truck (pending operational requirements).
Food stalls and refreshments will be available on the day. Please remember to bring hats, sunscreen and water.
Careers Day Special Guest Appearance
- Enjoy a meet and greet with reigning Red Bull Air Race World Champion, Matt Hall. Check out the aircraft he flies in for the incredible aerobatic displays, while getting the chance to ask questions to learn more about what is involved in the sport.
- Johnie & Inkie from 102.7 StarFM will be broadcasting live on the day!

Aerobatic Performance - Saturday 30 August (as part of the Cairns Festival)
Matt Hall will be performing an aerobatic display over the Cairns Esplanade on Saturday 30 August between 4.30pm - 5.15pm. Stay on for the Cairns Festival Grand Parade kicking off at 5.30pm.
Best place to view the show? The flight will be visible anywhere along the Cairns Esplanade.
