Cairns Airport Careers Day is back, with this year being a special edition event, proudly celebrating 75 years of the Australian Air Force Cadets 104 (City of Cairns) Squadron.
For 75 years, the Squadron has inspired young people across Far North Queensland through aviation, leadership, teamwork and service. To mark this significant milestone, visitors will have the opportunity to learn more about the Squadron's proud history, explore cadet displays and activities, and discover how generations of young Australians have taken their first steps towards careers in aviation, defence and aerospace.
Whether you're a student considering your future, a parent looking for opportunities for your children, or simply passionate about aviation, this free community event offers a unique opportunity to celebrate a local organisation that has helped shape the region's aviation community for decade

Celebrating 75 Years of Aviation Leadership
As part of this special anniversary event, the Australian Air Force Cadets 104 (City of Cairns) Squadron will open its doors to the community, showcasing the important role cadets have played in developing future leaders and aviation professionals since the Squadron was established in 1951. Visitors can explore displays, meet current and former cadets, tour the historic Cadet Hut and learn about the exciting opportunities available through the Australian Air Force Cadets program.
The celebrations coincide with a weekend of commemorative activities recognising the Squadron's remarkable contribution to Cairns and North Queensland, making this Careers Day one of the biggest and most unique events in the history of the program.

Bring the family along and enjoy a morning of free activities and aviation-themed experiences, including:
- Free face painting
- Jumping castle
- Aircraft displays
- Airport operations vehicles on display (subject to operational availability)
- Food and refreshment vendors
It's a fantastic opportunity for children and adults alike to explore aviation up close while learning about the exciting careers available in the industry.
Event Location
The event will be held at the Cairns Aviation Skills Centre within the General Aviation Precinct at Cairns Airport.
Free parking will be available onsite, with event signage and volunteers available to assist visitors upon arrival.
