Urban Pollution Awareness at Cairns Airport

Would you like to do something 'hands on' to help our environment?

The Cairns Drain Stencil project is an initiative of the Cairns and Far North Environment Centre (CAFNEC) designed to involve the community in ‘hands on’ drain stencilling to raise awareness and stimulate conservation in the community around urban pollution and the impact it has on the marine environment.

Cairns Airport has sponsored two hours of stenciling around the airport’s terminals and car parks as well as an additional two hours of stenciling in the community. The community stenciling will be located in the Saltwater Creek catchment/ Edge Hill/ Cairns North area.

All volunteers are very welcome to join CAFNEC and Cairns Airport, come and decorate some drains to protect the reef!
