There were record numbers of passengers through Cairns Airport around the time of the Solar Eclipse in November. The daily total for arriving passengers peaked on 12 November at almost 8,000, an increase of 70% on the comparable day in 2011. The airport was bustling with extra activity with charters, upgraded services and private flights and our ground transport operators ferrying passengers or providing them with vehicles.
